I made this album mainly as music writing and recording practice back in the summer of 2011. I used the movie '2001: A Space Odyssey' to structure the album and commit myself to doing a large volume of writing (2h 41m runtime). In simpler words, it could be played in sync with the scenes and emotional tones of the film. This is all written and recorded very quickly and plays with many different genres of music. Almost everything is played in single takes and unedited from some song structure I thought up briefly before. There are several motifs that run through the whole album as well as the individual movements.

Movement 1 is mainly layered clean electric guitars with a darker timber.

Movement 2 starts with more clean guitar sounds but in a much brighter and more melodic tone and eventually starts to work into some jazz music with bass guitar, piano, and guitar or occasionally keyboard triggered instruments. The last track is a noise track.

Movement 3 is by far the longest and most diverse. From here guitar is substituted for piano as the primary instrument. There are a lot of more straight forward instrumentals, but also psychedelic, unusual time signatures, noise, and other genres.

Movement 4 is quite short comparatively. It starts out with some of the albums most experimental moments and then moves into some more structured instrumentals that pull the motifs from the album back together.
